Jessie Lewis Sanders, Sr. was born to Jeff and Alma Sanders on April 16, 1940 in Utica, MS.
Jessie grew up in Utica, MS as one of five siblings, where he attended school in Hines County, Utica, MS. He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Wade M.B. Church.
Jessie later moved to Chicago, IL, where he was employed by G.E. Company. He then moved to Decatur, AL, where he retired with 38 years of service with G.E. Company.
Jessie Sanders, Sr. of Decatur, AL passed away on June 3, 2012 at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a loving and devoted wife, Brenda Sanders; a loving mother, Alma Sanders of Jackson, MS; one son, Jesse Sanders Jr. (Nancy) – Chicago, IL; one stepson, Roddrick Adair of Raleigh, NC; six daughters, Delores Finch of Jackson, MS; Deatrice Michelle Ross (Troy) of Chicago, IL; Denise Brown of Chicago, IL; Dyann Wade of Chicago, IL; Amersica Sanders of Memphis, TN; Michelle Sanders of Memphis, TN; three brothers, O.C. Sanders (Rose) of Chicago, IL; A.C.
Jessie was a loving and kind person. He was loved by everyone he met. He would lend out a helping hand to anyone he could. He will be greatly missed.
