Jessie Lee Schofield, age 76, of Centralia passed away Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Fireside House Nursing Home in Centralia. Jessie was born on November 27, 1941 in Effingham, IL, the daughter of Charles Mays and Eunice (Moss) Mays.
She married Manley J. Taylor on June 3, 1963 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She is survived by one son: Doug Taylor and wife Karen of Centralia; two daughters: Janet Wegs and husband Larry of Jefferson City, MO and TJ Taylor of Jefferson City, MO; two sisters: Cathy Heck of Mt. Vernon, IL and Bobbi Heifner of Mt. Vernon, IL; one brother: David Kirk and wife Faye of Mt. Vernon, IL; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Eunice Mays, one son: Billy Joe Mays, one brother Walter Mays, and one sister Mabel Kirk. Jessie enjoyed going to festivals and listening to country music. She was of the Baptist Faith. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
