Our loving mother and mama gained her wings, Monday, August 1, 2022, at the age of 99. She was born May 11,1923 to Jess and Annie Shields. Jessie worked in school lunchrooms starting in 1956 working at Rison, Chapman, and Colonial Hills Huntsville elementary schools. Jessie was a lifelong member of Jackson Way Baptist becoming a member in 1948.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Perry; parents, Jess and Annie Shields; sibling’s, JD Shields; Ruth Swinford and Leroy Shields; sons-in-law, Charles L. Giers and Joe Lee. Survived by daughters, Peggy Lee; Wanda Cantrell (Roy); grandchildren, Paul Giers (Stacee), Beth Jackson (Billy Ray), Jimmy Giers (Michelle), Jason Cantrell, and Betsy Burt (Jason); And special friends, Joe and Ramona Zullo and their son Sean; fifteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
