Jessie Cloteen Barker of Mansfield, Ohio, 85, passed away August 5, 2018, at The Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She kept her faith and fought a good fight until the Lord took her home.

Born January 16, 1933, she was the first of eight children born in Waltz, Kentucky, to Bethel Stevens and Ollie Earls Stevens. Surviving are her five children and their spouses: Connie Mauritz, Danny (and Cindy) Barker, Randall (and Joan) Barker, Barbara (and Keith) Barker, all of Mansfield, Ohio, Teresa (and Chris) Ault of Belleville, Ohio, and her two sisters, Darlene (and Guy) Glover and Pauline Carroll.

She had eight grandchildren: Kelly Reaves Bradshaw, Aaron Bradshaw, Randall (and Megan) Barker, Gregory (and Amanda) Barker, Eric Barker, Allison (and James) Feeney, Kira (and Jeffery) Appel, and Heather Ault, and three great grandchildren: Torry Bradshaw, Eloise Feeney, and Madeleine Feeney. In addition, she had many nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

Jessie was a stay-at-home mom and helped other family members. She enjoyed sewing and making Easter outfits for her children when they were young. She enjoyed reupholstering, putting out vegetable gardens and canning.

She was married to the love of her life on July 1, 1950, her husband of 25 years, Earl D. Barker. He preceded her in death in September of 1975. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her five brothers: Billie Stevens, Paul Stevens, Alvin Stevens, Leroy Stevens, and Carl Stevens.
