Jessie Christine Mayton, age 91, of DeMotte, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020.
She was born April 1, 1929, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Charlie and Myrtle (Perigo) GibbS. Jessie attended public school in Hopkinsville, KY. She married the love of her life, Carl F. Mayton, on March 8, 1947, in Kentucky. He preceded her in death in 2002. Jessie was a house wife and lived in Sauk Village, Illinois for 50 years before moving to DeMotte. She enjoyed gardening and being outside, loved to walk, listen to country music, visit her relatives in KY, cooking, being together on holidays, and spending time with the grandkids.
Jessie is survived by her children: Charles (Elsa) Mayton of Chicago Heights, IL; Earl (Loretta) Mayton of Kentucky; Carolotte (Randy) Brooker of DeMotte; 6 grandchildren: Charlie, Laura, Ryan, Gail, Page, Alan; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and numerous brothers and sisters.
