Jesse San Miguel, February 10, 2018.

Jesse was born on April 30, 1927, in Temple, Texas to Ralph and Clotilde Salinas de San Miguel. He spent most of his youth in the Temple area. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and Navy during WWII. Jesse spent a couple of years at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls where he met and married Ruth Curry Hall on October 5, 1947. He moved to Dallas where he completed his undergraduate degree at SMU. Jesse had varying interests and worked at Braniff Airlines as a ticket agent and moved into management at American Airlines where he was in charge of the stewardess program.

Then he moved to Sherman where he worked in management , taught Spanish and coached football at Austin College. His next job was teaching High School English and Spanish at Kingston, Oklahoma , while he pursued and completed his Master of Arts degree in Teaching at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant Oklahoma. From there Jesse and his family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota where he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). At that time Jesse completed his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Minnesota.

Most of his career was with the federal government working with the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare(HEW). In addition, he taught the Sunday School class at Lakeview, was an English professor at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) and  worked   as a consultant manager  at Ft. Hood.

Survivors include wife Ruth San Miguel, married 70 years, three sons: Gary San Miguel and wife Jill;Jesse San Miguel II; and Keith San Miguel and wife Michele; a daughter: Rozanna May and husband Dennis; ten grandchildren: Shawn San Miguel and wife Lisa; Ryan San Miguel and wife Kylie, Robby May and wife Tracy; Ricky May, Kaleigh Cantwell  and husband Chase, Micah San Miguel, Stefan San Miguel; Seth San Miguel and wife Anna; Shae Ann San Miguel; and Soren San Miguel.

There are eleven great-grandchildren: Jordan San Miguel; Megan San Miguel, Logan San Miguel; Skylar San Miguel, Caleb San Miguel, Brayden May, Kylin May, Judson May; Ayden San Miguel, Saul San Miguel, and Samuel San Miguel.
