Cocoa Beach – Jesse Ross, Sr. passed away on August 13, 2021 at the age of 62 from an unexpected aneurysm, in his adopted hometown of Cocoa Beach, Florida.

Jesse was born in Flint, Michigan to Leona & Clifford Ross and was the youngest of six children. Always open to adventure, Jesse moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida in 1981, where he started what would become his lifetime career in the jewelry business. Starting as a salesman for his father-in-law’s store, The Diamond Castle, Jesse eventually set out on his own and founded what would become Jesse the Jeweler in 1988. Jesse the Jeweler has served the community for over 30 years and his legacy endures to this day. In addition to his passion for his jewelry store, Jesse had a great love for travel and took trips all over the world including Turkey, Tajikistan, Ireland, Denmark, and Italy. He always had an open door to serve others, including serving as a regular host father for foreign exchange students for many years.

Jesse was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father, and the work ethic he taught his sons was second to none. He never failed to have a good joke mixed with a life lesson and did an amazing job in raising his four sons, Jesse II, Joe, Jerid, and Jeremy. Jesse (also known to his grandchildren as Gran-pere) also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Sofia, Vivian, Clementine, Madeleine, Henry, Charles, Jaxsen, and Brea. They could always count on him for homemade sweets from scratch that would be topped with whipped cream (always homemade by him and a grandchild). Jesse was known for building his family beyond just blood ties and leaves behind too many loved ones to count all around the world. He will be greatly missed around the entire world.
