Jessie Olive Pletcher, 101, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Thursday, Nov. 26, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Wakarusa.
She was born Feb. 22, 1914, in Elkhart, to Clyde and Frances I. (Groll) Beaver.
Survivors include her son, Eric J. Loughman of Elkhart; three grandchildren, Mandy (Ray) Maclean of Orwigsburg, Pa., Lance (Leslie) Loughman of Lake Zurich, Ill., and Chad (Amy) Loughman of Leawood, Kan.; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack H. Loughman, who passed away at an early age, and her second husband, Warren E. Pletcher; one son, Terry B. Loughman; one sister, Frances Cantrell; and two brothers, Groll, and Merle Beaver.
Jessie was employed as an A-operator on the line at Whitehall Pharmacy in Elkhart. She retired with more than 30 years of combined service.
She was a member of Elkhart Moose Lodge 599 and Granger Community Church. She enjoyed bowling and golfing and was active in various leagues throughout her life. She also loved watching sports of all types, especially Notre Dame Fighting Irish football and oh, The Bears.
Jessie had a passion for life and loved being with family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
