Jesse “Junior” Henning, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 1:41 p.m., on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Parkview Hospital Randalia. Born in Churubusco, on January 14, 1928, to the late, Howard and Jane (Craig) Henning. He spent his formative years in Churubusco, graduating from Churubusco High School in 1946. After high school, Junior served in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948.
He went to see the world and saw Chicago and Pensacola Florida. Junior was married to Mary Sheefel in Allen County, on October 28, 1949. Junior retired from Penn Central Rail Road in 1982 after 34 years of service. In his retirement he worked and played at the golf course. He enjoyed golfing and talking about the good ole days with his nephew, Scott.
He loved spending time with his family and dogs. Jesse is survived by his wife of nearly 69 years, Mary Henning; his nephews, Scott (Lori) Henning, Tim Sheefel and Tony (Tracy) Sheefel; great niece, Taylor (Tavin) Herendeen; three sisters. He is preceded in death by a nephew, Tim Henning; two brothers and three sisters.
