Jesse Gayle Sayers, 34 years old, of Laurel Valley Clarksburg, passed away on August 15, 2013. He was born July 26, 1979 in Newport News Virginia. He was previously employed at Louis A. Johnson Medical Center in Housekeeping/ Maintenance and Precision Coil. He is survived by one daughter, Katlyn Sayers of Good Hope; one son, Cody Sayers and stepson Chris Crayton both of Good Hope; parents Ronald L. Sayers Sr. and Kathy Vernon Mayle of Laurel Valley; paternal grandmother, Janet Sue Sayers of Gregory Run; maternal grandmother, Marceline Vernon of Hepzibah; brother, Ronald Lynn Sayers Jr. and wife Jennifer of Worthington; step-brothers, James Mayle and wife Tracy of Santee, Ca; John Mayle and wife Yvonne of Kaiserslautern, Germany; Josh Jenkins and companion Samantha of Shinnston: J.W. Sayers and companion Amanda of Shinnston; step-sisters, Tina Mercier, Linda Mayle both of Lewiston, ME; and Kimmy Mayle Simoneau and husband Wayne of Livermore, ME. He was preceded by his stepfather, James Nelson Mayle; paternal grandfather, Billie Hugh Sayers formerly of Gregory Run; maternal grandfather, Rolland Russell Vernon Sr.; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and his faithful dog Baby. As a young man he was on the YMCA Swim Team in Auburn Maine, where he won numerous awards. He was a member of the NJROTC at Lincoln High School in Shinnston. Jessie graduated from South Harrison High School in 1997, attended Bible Baptist Temple in Stonewood, and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was Honorably Discharged in 2004. He enjoyed watching Nascar Races with his dad. Jesse enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to music. He was very outgoing and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Jesse’s smile could light up a room and will be forever missed.
