Jesse D. Watson, 72, of Freeport died Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at his home, after a courageous two and a half year battle with cancer.
Born July 22, 1938 in Powersville, Missouri he was the son of Adam and Vera (Wilburn) Watson. He married Linda L. (Smith) Brobst December 6, 1996.Jesse served in the US Army from 1955 thru 1958. He was a member of the American Legion, Loyal Order of the Moose, and Zion Church. Jesse was a long time Freeport area Electrician and owner of J&L Electric.
Surviving are his wife, Linda; his mother, Vera Peska both of Freeport; his daughter, Diane (Brian) Swanstrom of Baileyville; his step-daughters, Tammy Stichter and Teresa (Steve) Whalen both of Freeport; 6 grandchildren, Brittany and Brianne Swanstrom of Baileyville, Miranda and Lindsey Stichter, Riley and Griffen Whalen; his brother, Jerry (Jan) Watson all of Freeport; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs, Sassy and Niki.
He was preceded in death by his father; his son, David; and 2 brothers, John and Jim.
