Jery was born April 3, 1947, in Afton, Wyoming to George Anders Taylor and Doris VanNoy Roberts Taylor. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On January 2, 1993, she married James Arthur “Jim” Schrader in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Jery and Jim made their home in Ammon, Idaho.
