Jerry Lynn Long, Sr., 76, of Salisbury passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his residence.
Born in Cabarrus County on July 28, 1946, he was the son of the late Mary Elizabeth Long and David Long.
Mr. Long was a roofer by trade. He was an active member of Cannan Baptist Church for many years until health issues arose. This is where he met Patty, his wife of 37 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, T.J. Long and brothers, Bobby Long and Frank Long.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patty Spry Long, whom he married in 1985; sons, Jerry Long, Jr. of Texas, Mark Hunt of Concord, Michael Long of Pennsylvania; stepson, Michael Philbeck of Cherryville; daughters, Robin Leazer of Rockwell and Deb Arrowood of Salisbury; stepdaughter, Renee Greco of Cherryville and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will hold a service at a later date.
