Jerry Louis Thomas’s earthly journey began on April 24th, 1957 in Sylacauga, Alabama to the parents of Argentine Thomas and Bobbie Jean Wilson Thomas.  Jerry received his formal education in the Talladega County School system and attended B. B. Comer Memorial High School, Sylacauga, Alabama.  

Jerry left Alabama in the late 80’s to make Tennessee his home for more than twenty years.  While in Tennessee, Jerry worked in the Textile industry for many years. Later he relocated back to Alabama where he was employed with America Paper for three years. 

Jerry had a passion for fishing. If he could go seven days a week, that’s where you would find him sitting on the banks fishing.  During football season Jerry loved cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Jerry departed this walk of life on October 7th, 2022 under the care of St. Vincent Medical Center East, Birmingham, Alabama.  He was preceded in death by his father, Argentine Thomas, brother, James Edward Thomas, grandfather, Dennis Wilson, aunt, Mary E. Thomas, and uncle, Roosevelt Thomas.

His love will forever be cherished by two children, Tomiko Brookins of Birmingham, AL, and Monika Hart of Georgia; mother, Bobbie J. Thomas of Sylacauga, AL; five sisters, Bonnie Thomas of Sylacauga, AL, Elisa (Michael) Wilson of Sylacauga, AL, Regina Lauderdale of Georgia, Hope (Chris) Johnson of Sylacauga, AL, and Gloria McGhee of North Carolina; three brothers, Marvin Player of Sylacauga, AL, Lyndon Lauderdale of Sylacauga, AL, and Eddie Thomas of Mississippi;  one uncle, William Earl (Mae) Wilson of Sylacauga, AL; sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, caregiver, Bonnie Brookins; many thanks and blessings to Eric Morris (Black Bird) and a host of other relatives and friends.
