Jerry Lee Adams, 78, of Jacksonville, IL died Sunday, December 4, 2016, at Willow Rose Health Care Center in Jerseyville, IL. He was born July 9, 1938, in Decatur, the son of Charles William and Virginia Black Adams. He married Terry Chaudoin on March 30, 1962, in Springfield and she survives.
He is also survived by three children, Tammy Adams (Reza Mahdavi) of Marco Island, FL, Christopher Adams (Teresa) of Chino Hills, CA, and Matthew Adams (Cindy) of Longview, TX; two grandchildren, Colby and Connor Adams; seven step-grandchildren, Doug and Derek Kennedy, Priscilla, Jacqueline, Melissa, Crystal, and Jason Mackey; several step-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard Adams (Claire) of Huntington Beach, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harry Adams.
Jerry was a graduate of Jacksonville High School and Illinois College. He served with the US Army in the atmospheric physics branch at Fort Monmouth, NJ. Jerry worked for Peerless Pump and DuPont before becoming self-employed and joining his brother in business. He and his wife, Terry, raised their family in California and later returned to Illinois where they have made their home until his death.
