Gerald (Jerry) Klotzkin, age 81, of Idaho Falls, Idaho passed away Wednesday afternoon, August 3, 2022.
Jerry was born October 24, 1940 in New York and raised in the Bronx. He was a wonderful big brother to his sister and they remained best friends throughout his life.
He served in the Army then went to Brooklyn College for his bachelor’s degree, and while in college, he met his future wife, Judy Schulman. Jerry was not a fan of ceremonies, and so they initially eloped. Shortly thereafter, they had a formal wedding to ensure the families were happy.
Throughout his life, he was a strong supporter of civil liberties, including working for the passage of the Sunshine Act and the Fair Housing Act. He was also an avid supporter of the National Parks and environmental organizations.
He is survived by his sons David (Shari) Klotzkin; Howard (Lauren) Klotzkin; Philip (Jennifer) Klotzkin; Gary (Michele) Klotzkin; Russell (Jodi) Klotzkin; Stephen (Jana) Klotzkin; his sister Dolores Baldwin; and his grandchildren; Joshua, Benjamin, Laura, Chad, Maddison, Sammy, Milo, Ella, Samantha, Ariella, Meydad, Talia, Yosef, Simcha, Emma and Eliana Klotzkin and his great-grandchildren, Clay Klotzkin and Ryder Datz.
