On Tuesday, the 28th day of September 2021, Jerry “Jay” Welles Poston, Jr., age 48, of Palestine, entered eternal rest and is now in the presence of our loving Lord and Savior. He was born in Granada Hills, California, on the 25th day of July 1973, to parents Jerry Welles Poston, Sr. and Linda Kay Barnes.
Jay was born into a loving family. Growing up and being the “baby”, he was well taken care of by his parents and continually “guided” by his three older sisters. Jay worked hard and excelled as a master plumber. He enjoyed the outdoors and everything it had to offer, especially fishing. Jay loved nature and frequently found a soft spot in his heart for animals. Jay lived his life in the fast lane and loved to go fast. Whether it was riding go-karts, dirt bike racing, jet skiing, or snowboarding, he took it to the extreme. However, he always put his son first and loved him unconditionally. Jay was a blessing to many people and will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Jay is survived by his son, Treven Poston; parents, Jerry and Linda Poston; sisters, Tammy Swagler and husband David of Aurora, Colorado, Kelly Smith and husband Mike of Palestine, Texas, and Stacey Cambron and husband Charles of Dayton, Ohio. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jake, Sam, McKenna, Riley, Chase, Rachel, Elizabeth, Joshua, and Caleb.
