Jerry E. “Bear” Magelitz, 67, of Chapin, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at his home.
He was born Apr. 22, 1949, in Chapin, the son of Clarence John and Lucille Virginia Daly Magelitz.
He is survived by his brother, Michael James “Jim” (wife, Linda) Magelitz of Chapin; a nephew, First Class Petty Officer Matthew Magelitz of Corona, CA (fiancée Hannah Sago), and his children Madison and Izzy; and a niece, Shelby Magelitz of Chapin. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Magelitz worked for Chapin Machine & Welding Company for many years before retiring due to ill health. He enjoyed playing pool, bowling, and tinkering with old cars.
