Jerry Don (Papa) Silvers, age 74, of Crandall, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021. Jerry was born on March 23rd, 1947 to the late Jesse (Jett) Silvers and Myrtle Dixon Silvers. He was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Judy Silvers. Jerry was a member of Valley Baptist Church. He served his country from 1966-1969 in the United States Army during which time he was stationed in Alaska, a place he loved, and wanted to return there someday but was never able to. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing and hunting. He was a diesel mechanic for over 30 years before retiring. He was a Mr. Fix-it and everyone looked to him for help when something needed repair. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Gribble Silvers; his son, Jerome (Robin) Silvers; daughter, Missy (Buster) Fox; grandchildren, Emily (Tucker) Nelson, Jessie (Chyanne) Fox, Amber Fox; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Fox and Ronan Nelson. He is also survived by his brothers, Alvin Silvers, Jesse (Shirley) Silvers and Randall Silvers; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joe Woody and Willie Woody.
