Jerry Bruce Overley, 76, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday, April 2, 2021 at home.
He was born November 3, 1944, in Lafayette, to the late Raymond and Helen (Brand) Overley.
Bruce graduated from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1963.
After graduation Bruce proudly served in the US Army from 1965 until being honorably discharged in 1967.
On March 19, 1966, he married Phyllis Redmon, she preceded him in death in 2018.
Bruce was a Service Representative for Pitney Bowes Corporation and also worked for Purdue University in Maintanence.
Bruce’s hobbies included fixing and building things, he loved to cook and was an avid woodworker.
He is survived by three children, Jan Overley-Hirt (Harvey) of Auburndale, FL, Tim Overley (Jessica) of Danville, IL, and Julie Overley (Chris) of Lafayette; three brothers, Dennis Overley (Arlene) of Lafayette, Richard Dean Overley (Rose) of St Louis, MO and Michael Overley (Joyce) of Lebanon, TN. Also surviving are five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
