Jerome Turner Sr. was born September 30, 1968, to the late John and Nora Turner Sr., in Cleveland, Ohio. He was the youngest of eight. Jerome gave his life to Christ at a young age at Fellowship Baptist Church, where he sung in the choir and served on the usher board. As a youth, Jerome loved to dance. He was often showcased on the popular show, Big Chuck, and Little John, with his twin brother. Jerome graduated from Max Hayes High School in 1987 and then went on to receive an Associate degree from The University of North Western. He worked at the old Cleveland Stadium where he met his wife of 27 years. To this union 9 beautiful children were born. They relocated to Columbus, Ohio where he was a member of Mt. Hermon and Pence Missionary Baptist Church. Jerome was employed at Buckeye Steel until it closed. For several years, he was a long distance truck driver until he started working at Cardinal Health up until his illness. Jerome was known for his loving and infectious personality. He was quite the comedian, spreading joy and laughter with his jokes. Not only was he dedicated to his family, which earned him the title of #1 Dad, he was a surrogate father, mentor, and advisor to others.
On August 7th, 2020, the Lord called Jerome home and the angels rejoiced, welcoming his transition into a new life. Preceding him in death his brothers: Troy Fields and John Turner Jr.
Jerome leaves to cherish his memories; his wife, Vanetta Lashawn, all his children who adored him, Jerome Jr., Janetta Marie, Janisha Monèt, Jeron James, Jevon, Jaylon, Jayden and Jashane; all of Columbus, Ohio, his twin brother Jeffery (Nina) Turner; of Cleveland, Ohio, sisters, Vanessa Henderson, Carol (Jerrold) Thomas, Karen (Grayden) Royer; all of Cleveland, Ohio, Coretta Thomas of Alabama, his mother-in-law, Marylin Kimmie, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-laws, a host of nieces , nephews, other family and friends.
