“Jerry Caplan passed on Friday March 30th, 2018 after close to a three year brave and strong fight with various health challenges. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years Barbara, daughter Renee, son Jeff, grandchildren Jaymee and Rhianna and daughter in law Christine, brother in laws and sister in law Howard Sniderman, Joe and Sandy Mattioli, aunts, cousins and dog Sadie. Predeceased by parents Simon and Jeanne and sister Anne.
Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Everyone knew Jerry to be an honest, proud, helpful, highly intelligent, kind man. He served in the Navy for seven years and loved his country. A founder and retiree from a successful company near Rochester, Jerry moved to Florida with the love of his life Barbara in 2010 where he and Barbara built the home of their dreams. Jerry loved being around his family and always did everything he could to ensure their success. Truly a remarkable man, anyone that had the good fortune of meeting him, brought with them a fond piece of Jerry that all continue to cherish.
He enlisted in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1968. He served in the US Navy on the US Tusk (SS-426) and US George Bancroft (DD-643).
