Jerome (Jerry) Anthony Solano
1947-2021
Jerome (Jerry) Anthony Solano passed away on December 9, 2021, surrounded by his beloved wife and children at the age of 74.
He was born in Ault, Colorado to Fred and Lillian Solano and raised by his grandmother Mollie Trujillo, at the age of 10 he was welcomed into the home of Victor and Beatrice Roybal. He grew up in Pueblo, Colorado and graduated from Centennial High School in 1966. He then joined the United States Marine Corps. He served 3 tours of duty in Viet Nam; and was an extremely proud Veteran.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 52 ½ years, Diane and their 3 children, Jerome Solano Jr., Stephanie (Roy) Sedberry, Christine Solano and 10 grandchildren, Samantha, Derek, Anissa, Allison, Mariah, Cheyann, Catalina, Maria, Andrew, Shawna, and 9 great children, LaLaini, Alivia, Alies, Landon, Sophia, Thalia, Jamison and Jackson. Siblings Carmen (Syl) Arteaga, Edmond (Linda) Roybal, Sandra (Ron) Jimenez, Daniel (Peggy) Roybal and Frances (Dale) Albo, and lifelong friend (brother) Clifford (Vicki) Martinez.
Jerry was the proud Business Owner of Air Zone Tec, an HVAC company for many years. During this time, he mentored and trained numerous young men. Jerry was a true example to all of them, teaching and guiding them to become providers for their families as well as family men. His family was always his main priority. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and boating, all the while instilling in his children an everlasting work ethic.
He will always be remembered for his ability to make anyone smile regardless of what may have transpired earlier in their day. He took great pride in helping the those in need, he was always looking for a way to help the less fortunate. He would dress up as Santa Claus for the Chicano Biker’s Annual Christmas Charity party delivering presents to the children while riding his Harley Davidson Trike.
He had an uncanny way of bringing joy to all that were around and had a signature dance that became tradition at family weddings and parties. He loved to dance to the song Wooly Bully, at the drop off a hat he would jump on a chair and start dancing. The whole family (and strangers) would join in.
Sgt. JA Solano will always be remembered and never forgotten.
