Jerold Daniel “Jerry” Whitaker,75, passed away Thursday October 10, 2013 in Greenwood. He was a resident of Greenwood and a lifelong resident of Johnson County. He graduated from Whiteland High School, class of 1958. Jerry attended Milligan College in Tennessee. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jerry had many vocations centered around sales; insurance, automobiles, RV’;s, newspapers and bars.
He is survived by his three children, Deena (Mark Clark) Nystrom, J. Tracy (Dawn) Whitaker and Timothy Whitaker all of Greenwood. He loved his nine grandchildren with all of his heart; Abby, Joel, Quinn, Paige, Luke, Calvin, John, Whitney and Makenzy. He is also survived by a sister, Sylvia O’Kearney of Colorado, two brothers, Kenneth (Helen) Whitaker of Greenwood and Frances (Norma) Whitaker of Whiteland and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daulton and Margaret (Tracy) Whitaker, and two brothers, J. Tracy Whitaker and Robert Whitaker.
