Jeralyn L. Allbright-Wood, 70, of Galesburg, died at 10:38 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Galesburg. Jeralyn was born March 21, 1945 in Utica, NY, the daughter of Myron Jackson and Eleanor Dowdall Calhoun. Jeralyn married Donald Allbright; together they had three sons, Myron (Charlotte) Allbright of Graham, NC, Dan J. (Christie) Allbright and Dale Allbright both of Galesburg. She later married Sidney William Wood on September 21, 1994 in Galesburg. Sid survives of Galesburg as do two step sons, Christian John Wood of Victoria, MN and Jared Wood of Mt. Pleasant, IA; and two step daughters, Alisandra (Troy Ayers) Wood of Rosemont, MN and Dameann (Hugo) Hect of Harker Heights, TX. Jeralyn is also survived by one brother, Douglas Calhoun of Searsmont, ME; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Jeralyn graduated from Carl Sandburg College with her degree in accounting. She had spent the past 14 years working at the Galesburg Area Convention and Visitors Bureau where she could enjoy one of her favorite hobbies, talking to people. In her free time, Jeralyn also enjoyed reading and working on her computer. She will be remembered as “Mom” for many people as her door was always open and everyone was always welcome in her home. She loved cooking Sunday dinners and having a full table of people to enjoy food, family, friendship, and conversation.
