Jerald Thomas “Jerry” Rosser, 79, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at Fleming County Hospital.
Jerry was born March 6, 1936 in Maysville to the late William E. and Opal Moreland Rosser.
Jerry was a well – known business man in Fleming County, as a young man he had worked for Clyde’s Super Value and Larry’s IGA in Maysville. After leaving Maysville he and his family owned and operated Jerry’s IGA in Flemingsburg for 45 years. One of his true passions was being a farmer, which he had been for most of his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Sergeant. He was a longtime member of the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church where he had actively served in many capacities.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Armstrong Rosser; son, Michael (Kay) Rosser of Flemingsburg; grandchildren, Trey Rosser, Sydney (Cory) Moore, Tasha (Kevin) McCarty; great grandchildren, Brecken and Bella; brother, Jimmy Rosser (Mary Sue) of Dover; sister, Sue Faris of Ripley, and Linda Rosser of Maysville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Glenn Rosser, Butch Rosser, Bonnie Wallingford, Billie Hartley, Pat Bowkamp and Maretta Carpenter.
