Jerald F. Marden, age 84 of Midland, died Thursday evening December 22, 2016 at Stratford Pines in Midland. The son of the late John A. and Thelma (Bissell) Marden was born in Midland on June 3, 1932 where he was raised and educated. Jerry served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

He had been employed with The Dow Chemical Company until his retirement in June of 1988 after 34 years of service. Jerry was also a used car salesman for over 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, listening to country music, going to the casino but most of all he enjoyed Margo & Sly cooking. Jerry was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years the former Lucretia “Lu” Wendt of whom he married on March 3, 1962 in St. John’s Lutheran Church; his daughters, Carol (Keith) Scott of Midland, Margot A. Marden and her significant other Sly Belvin of Hope; grandchildren, Jeff & Zach Scott, Aaron & Ryan Rice; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Gail; brothers, James and Jack Marden; sisters, Janet Hutchison, Betty Whisler. Joyce Kartz.
