On the morning of December 22, 2008, Jenny Schaeffer was taken home to be with her Heavenly Father. Her love of family and friends, dedication to her faith, sense of humor, and her eye for beauty made her truly rare. This angel among us was sent home too soon, and those of us fortunate enough to have known her, can’t help but think that she is still needed here. But the limits of this world would not allow her to help in the way that was required, so we take comfort in knowing her spirit can now reside with each and everyone of us, at anytime.
On July 26, 1955 James and Edith Coffin were blessed with a baby girl named Jenny. She grew up in a family of five, one brother and four sisters in Boise, Idaho on a farm off of Bogart Lane. She graduated from Capital High School in 1972.
On November 24, 1972 she married the love of her life, Michael Schaeffer, and they were blessed with four wonderful children. Jenny knew she was put here on earth to travel life’s journey with Michael and to raise her family.
Jenny had no trouble making a person smile, always knowing what they needed. She was so compassionate and put everyone first, giving no thought to herself. Her friends and family have always thought of her as a saint; an angel sent from above.
Jenny worked for Albertsons for nearly 30 years and held many positions. The recognition of her natural leadership abilities were what promoted her into management. With her sense of duty and strong work ethic, she was able to accomplish things that most supervisors thought impossible. She held the respect of her co-workers and that of the management alike.
The artist within her came out in many ways. Her love of painting, sewing, or making exquisite wedding cakes gave her the opportunity to express herself. You also knew by the twinkle in her eye that she was formulating her next plan of attack. She was famous for her well thought out pranks, which she enlisted the help of others in order to pull them off. The genuine laugh she shared is a gift that will be truly missed.
It was by her faith in Christ and the love she felt from her Heavenly Father, that she possessed the incredible strength to endure life’s trials.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
