Mrs. Jennie Romano Kaukas, age 79, beloved wife of John W. Kaukas, Jr., of Orange, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 in Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Daughter of the late Nicola and Giovannina Monnochi Romano, she was born on July 5, 1930 in Mamaroneck, New York. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy and had attended Sacred Heart University in Fairfield. Jennie was a Secretary at the University of Bridgeport until her retirement and previously at the University of Connecticut and the Wyatt Fuel Corporate Office as Secretary. Many summers were spent with the family and relatives at the Newfound Lake in New Hampshire, plus other trips to Newfoundland, Canada, and New England. Her travels with friends and relatives included trips to Aruba and Hawaii.
