Jennifer Lynn Friedmeyer entered God’s presence on September 14, 2021, surrounded by her family in the comforts of her home in Moore, OK at the age of 61. “Jenni” was born on May 17, 1960 in Summit, NJ to parents Howard and Marilyn Mattson. She grew up in the St. Louis and Chicago areas with her three brothers. She earned her B.S degree in Biology from Wheaton College in 1981. She married her husband, James Friedmeyer, in June of 1984 and they were happily married for 37 years.
Jenni supported and served alongside James as he served as pastor to local Presbyterian churches across Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Ohio. Together they raised 2 children, Jonathan and Erika, whom they loved very much. Trained by the “Father of Echocardiography,” Dr. Harvey Feigenbaum, she was a well-respected cardiac sonographer for 37 years across six states.
Throughout Jenni’s life, she was known for her singing voice, piano and flute, and serving the church through music, and she particularly enjoyed leading children’s choirs and VBS music programs. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and cross stitch, especially creating Halloween costumes for her grandchildren.
Jenni is preceded in death by her parents Howard and Marilyn Mattson and brother Jeffrey Mattson. She is survived by her husband James Friedmeyer, son Jonathan (Shannon) Friedmeyer, daughter Erika (Ryan) Forrest, grandchildren Theodore and Lorelei Friedmeyer and Aksel and Elspeth Forrest, brothers Mark and Curtis Mattson, and many extended family and dear friends.
