Jennifer Lynn Handy, 40, of Dublin, CA and formerly of Virginia, IL died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, HI after stricken with a cerebral hemorrhage while vacationing.
She was born January 10, 1972 in Carlinville, IL and is survived by her parents, David M. and Ronda Handy of Ashland and Letha F. Handy of Centralia; her siblings, Monica Cookson (husband, Dusty) of Jacksonville, Brad Handy of Ashland, Caleb Richard Handy of Athens, Marty Bettis (wife, Raiza) of Livermore, CA and Debbie Azevedo of Chico, CA; her grandparents, Mildred Walters of Centralia, Betty Handy of Virginia, and Harvey Bettis of Carlinville; two aunts, Shelby Garrison (husband, Jack) of Walnut Hill and Shelia Kramer of Centralia; her God daughter, Aspen Garrison of Walnut Hill; her cousin, Michelle Burns (husband, Scott) of Springfield, MO; and her special friend, Lanny Edwards of Walnut Creek, CA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard Handy, Kay Handy, and Tom Walters.
Ms. Handy graduated from St. Augustine, FL High School and the University of North Florida. She was employed by USG and Breyer’s Ice Cream prior to joining Safeway Foods where she was currently serving as Director of Pricing. She loved spending time with her dog, Dante, and enjoyed wine tasting, travel, snow skiing, running, and salsa dancing.
