Jennie Norwood Buckner, 85, of Harrisburg, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023 at her residence in Harrisburg.
Jennie was born April 6, 1937 in Chatham County, North Carolina to the late Archie Franklin Norwood Sr. and the late Margaret Campbell Norwood.
She was also preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Kamba Buckner Williams, and her brother, Thomas Locke Norwood Sr.
Jennie was a devoted wife and homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family and her home. She was a beloved Sunday school teacher for the ladies of Pitts Baptist Church for many years. She had the gifts of generosity and teaching. She was known for her sense of humor and sometimes “zany” antics to encourage and uplift others.
Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Edward Buckner of Harrisburg, NC, daughter, Gail Gandy and husband Rick, granddaughter, Becky Sebert and husband Andy and two great-grandchildren, Cole and Avery Sebert, all of Concord, NC. She is also survived by her brother Archie Norwood, Jr. and wife Pat of Pleasant Gardens, NC, and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
