Jennetta Irene Antle was the tenth child of fourteen children born to Guysbert and Gertrude (Van Arkel) Van Wyk. She was born on August 3, 1920 at rural Sully. She passed away at her home in Sully on Saturday morning, August 2, 2008, at the age of eighty-seven.

Jennetta went to grade school at Sully Christian School. She married Max W. Antle on November 14, 1939. They farmed west of Killduff until 1981 when they retired and moved to Sully. Her husband preceded her in death on May 17, 2001.

A tornado ripped through their farm home on Sunday afternoon, September 7, 1941. Jennetta remembered it well and shared stories about their survival.

As Jennetta’s health failed, she was lovingly cared for by Lisa Groenenboom and Jennetta’s family.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her daughter and her husband: Barb and Darrel Jansen of Sully; her son: Wes Antle and Carolyn Ball of Newton; four grandchildren and their spouses: Tia (Felix) Torres, Tim (Brenda) Jansen, Bob (Amy) Antle, and Carrie (Todd) Gilbert; nine great-grandchildren: Tony (Misty) Torres, Jennifer Torres, Brooke Jansen, Baylee Jansen, Tyson Jansen, Dusti Antle, Jarrett Antle, Chelsea Alter, and Taylor Alter; and two great-great-grandchildren: Destiny Torres and Matt Torres.

She is also survived by: one brother, David (Edith) Van Wyk of Grinnell; two sisters: Mary Grace (Henry) Terlouw of Grinnell and Faye (Gerrit) Stouwie of Pella; and sisters-in-law: Tunnet Van Wyk of Otley and Nellie Van Wyk of Pella.

Preceding her in death were: her parents, her husband; five brothers: Will G., Cornie, Henry G., Bert, and Marion: and five sisters: Carrie (Braaksma), Mattie (DeHoedt), Minnie (Ver Steegt), Gertie (Ver Steegt), and Alenis (Brush).

A very kind person, Jennetta enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and being close to family and friends.
