Obit Jeffrey Scott Krupicka-53
of Carleton, NE
402-768-6165
Jeff was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Friend, NE, and was confirmed at the Ohiowa United Methodist Church.
Growing up in the Ohiowa area, Jeff attended Ohiowa Public School until it closed in 1982. He then terrorized a whole new set of teachers with old and new friends and graduated in 1986. While attending Bruning, school administration finally realized the error of their ways and allowed Jeff to spend most of his school day in the shop with Mr. Hogeland, much to the relief of his teachers. There, Jeff learned lifelong mechanical skills and important lessons, such as blowing up school desks.
After graduation, Jeff realized his lifelong love for the military by joining the National Guard in 1986, and was called into active duty serving in Bosnia, Germany and Kuwait. He was honorably discharged in 2008.
Jeff married Jill Domeier in 1988, and he worked for his Uncle Larry and Aunt Laura Krupicka at Carleton Motors as a mechanic. They had three kids: Lynlee Dawn, Kaitlyn Brett, and Talmadge Jeffrey (TJ). Later, he married Becky Barton, and they had Morgan Jo, who tragically passed at six weeks of age. Jeff reconnected with Katie Elting, and they married on March 28, 2008. With this marriage, he gained her three sons: Levi, Briar, and Nathan.
All of his life, Jeff was mischievous, a prankster, and wild……and did we mention wild?! Jeff never drove a car, truck, motorcycle, or 10 speed bike he couldn’t wreck. However, he was pretty skilled at driving a tank. Perhaps the size helped him keep it on the road. Teaming up with his brother Greg, later his brother Eric, and then his buddies, Jeff was always thinking of the next prank, such as throwing snapping turtles in peoples’ vehicles. His brother-in-law Curt was one of his favorite targets. Being a pyro, he and Greg had a hand in burning up Dad’s brand-new Ford pick-up, and he always used way too much gas to burn the garbage, resulting in many singed eyebrows. Jeff had a way of constantly “falling” into trouble. The time he fell into a fresh sewer pit while moving bar equipment in Schuyler for Champs Bar was just one of many. He enjoyed ramming around with his friends and warring with guys from the surrounding rival towns while in high school, with whom they all had beers after graduating, laughing at their high jinks. Jeff, his siblings, and friends also loved going to the Air Base to whip kitties and have parties by bonfires.
Jeff loved racing, Nascar, and especially Jeff Gordon. He also loved the Dallas Cowboys and the Huskers.
Family was very important to Jeff, and he was extremely proud of his kids and grandkids. He busted with pride to see TJ on his state football, basketball, and track teams and Lynlee and Kaitlyn’s state basketball teams. He and Katie enjoyed the kids’ proms and weddings and seeing Nat and Cam in their Halloween costumes. However, he frequently asked the kids, “What the hell did you do that for?” and he would call every boyfriend Lynlee and Kaitlyn had “Bozo”. He’d always ask the kids, “Why don’t you show me how tall you are?” and when they did, he would say, “Now, go get me a beer since you’re up!” Jeff enjoyed teaching kids to hunt and trap, especially his nephew Patrick. He was also very protective of his little sister, Caker, who also dated some Bozos.
Jeff is preceded in death by daughter Morgan Krupicka, dad Don Krupicka, grandparents Lester and Wilma Krupicka, Duane and Virginia Vavra, and Jack Shea and nephew, Remington Elting.
