Jeffrey Robert Young
November 23, 1955 – September 19, 2016

Jeffrey Robert Young, son of Robert and Charlotte Young, was born in Cook County, Illinois on November 23, 1955. Jeff was reared in Central Ohio, and upon graduating from high school, joined the United States Air Force. His intent was to see the world but he ended up stationed in Missouri where he served as a military police officer. During his stint at Richards Gebaur Air Force Base, Jeff met his future wife Marci, the daughter of an Air Force Colonel, as he saluted her entering and exiting the base.

After his tenure ended with the Air Force, Jeff and Marci were married and moved to Bountiful, Utah before relocating to Manila, Utah for work. During their time in Manila Jeff gained a great love for Flaming Gorge and being out on the water. Many weekends throughout the rest of his life were spent camping and boating there. For those of us that were fortunate enough to spend time on the boat with Jeff we will always remember how much he loved to fly across the lake with his hair blowing in the wind.

Jeff had an incredible knack for fixing everything and a passion for cars. He was able to incorporate both his gift and his love into his profession as an auto-mechanic. In 1990 he opened up his own shop, Young’s Auto, where he had the privilege of working along side his son. For Jeff, the shop wasn’t just his place of business; it was a place where friends and family gathered. We will always be grateful for the life lessons that Jeff shared with us during our time down at the shop. He taught us the value of hard work, that you should never too busy to listen, and that everyone is worth your time.

Jeff’s love for cars was surpassed only by the love he had for his family.
