Jeffrey L. Maher, 59, of Metamora, IL passed away at 4:26 am on Monday, January 16, 2017 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He was born on June 15, 1957 in Peoria, IL to Edward J. and Vhonda J. (Manges) Maher.

Surviving are his sister-in-law Christine Maher of East Peoria; nieces and nephews Tina Maher of Pekin, Todd Railey of Peoria, Kandace “K.C.” Foster of Metamora, Kanoa “Noa” Maher of East Peoria; Austin McWilliams of Metamora; Kalee Smith of Kentucky; Ava Rose Smith; and fiancAC. Julieanne Kazmierski of Germantown Hills. He was preceded in death by his son Christopher and his brother David K. “Kochica” Maher.

Jeff worked in the janitorial department at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. Until he was no longer able to work with his spare time he collected over 10,000 movies in 30 years. Jeff was an avid horror movie lover with “Night of the Living Dead” being his all time favorite so much so that he had always stated when he goes he wants his cremated ashes spread in Pennsylvania where the first “Night of the Living Dead” movie was filmed. “So Be It!” The last two years were his happiest with finding the love of his life, Julieanne. They were inseparable and were planning a June wedding. Jeff had a love for cats and had always made sure the neighborhood strays stayed fed.
