Jeffrey Joe Tingle, 67, passed away Thursday Feb. 7, 2013 in New Whiteland. He was a resident of New Whiteland. Jeff was born August 6, 1945 in Indianapolis to Chester Owen and Leah Margorie (Hughey) Tingle. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He married Villa Kirby, daughter of Cecil and Bessie Kirby, Oct. 1, 1970 in Whiteland; they were married for 42 years. He was employed with Kortzendorf Company in the shipping and receiving department. Jeff was a member of the New Whiteland Baptist Church and a life member of the Veteran Of Foreign Wars, Post #6978.
He enjoyed sports and NASCAR and was a big fan of Indiana University Basketball and Indianapolis Colts football. He worked at the Indy 500 and the Brickyard NASCAR races for many years. He enjoyed cooking, bowling, Elvis, auctions, watching the History Channel and listening to the Pathway gospel group. He loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His greatest joy was serving his country in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Villa Tingle of New Whiteland, four children, Tony ( Teresa ) Hall of Crawfordsville, Angie (David) Blair of Whiteland, Tara Tingle of New Whiteland and Jeffrey Jay (Maria) Tingle of Missouri, brother, David O. (Pat) Tingle of Franklin, twelve grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren and an aunt, Marilyn Hughey Beeler of Franklin. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Scottie Joe Tingle.
