Jeffrey J. Long, 67, of Terre Haute passed away Friday June 14, 2013 in Union Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by family. Jeff had a passion for automobiles his whole life and was well known for his mechanical ability to fix any problem that came his way. He was the first born of 11 children on April 26, 1946 in Syracuse, New York to Taylor Long and Mary Elizabeth (Coyne) Long. Jeff is survived by 2 sons: Brian Pazera and Scott Pazera both of Lafayette, IN; daughter: Trena Anderson of Greenwood; step-daughter: Angie Hendrix of Florida; 6 brothers: Tim Long and wife Marsha of Carbon, IN, Pat Long and wife Sandy of West Terre Haute, Mike Long and wife Helen of West Terre Haute, Steve Long of Terre Haute, Bart Long of Terre Haute, and John Long and wife Cathy of Terre Haute; 4 sisters: Linda Long of Terre Haute, Kerry Lawson and husband Mike of Elkhart, Bettie Anne Long of Terre Haute, and Bridget Boling and husband Ken of Terre Haute; 2 grandchildren: Chase and Courtney Anderson; step-grandson: Anthony Gabriele; special life-long companion: Janice Alsip of Terre Haute and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeff attended Wiley High School, was a US Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Boxer, and was an avid NASCAR fan with his favorite driver being Dale Earnhardt.
