Jeffrey Allen Laughman, 60, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 11, 2018, following a courageous battle with an extended illness at the Edwardsburg home of his fiancé, Rhonda Jo Linton.
Jeff was born, in Elkhart, Nov. 29, 1957, to James M. Laughman of Elkhart and the late F. Virginia (Wolf) Laughman.
Also surviving are a son, Josh A. Laughman of Elkhart; stepdaughters Mary Jo (Travis) Weir of Edwardsburg and Ally (Dustin) Hankins of Cassopolis; grandchildren Lucas Laughman and Parker and Bella Hankins; brothers James (Shelley) Laughman and Larry (Jan) Leininger; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
An aunt Rose Rink and an uncle Carl Wolf preceded Jeff in death.
Jeff worked in the local RV and cargo trailer production industry for most of his adult life and was a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Bristol American Legion Post No. 143.
In his free time, Jeff loved the outdoors and enjoyed staying at his cottage on Clear Lake or visiting Rhonda at Eagle Lake.
He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan and enjoyed using his talent in handy work to help others.
He’ll always be remembered for his indominable spirit and courage to face things head-on.
