Jeff Connor was born September 19, 1944, to John and Ellen Connor. He grew up in Bexley, Ohio and attended St. Thomas Aquinas High School, where he played basketball and competed on the swim and dive team. After a stint in the Marines and Mt. Saint Mary’s college, Jeff married the love of his life, Kimberly, who he met as a lifeguard. They had two children, Kristina and Rick.
Jeff had a successful career of nearly 50 years as a salesman for The Ross Willoughby Company, and L&M Tool. He was a dedicated professional who took care of his customers, counting many as true friends.
Jeff was a warm, funny, and kind man whose life was blessed with the love of a large family and many friends. Jeff will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and his irreverent sense of humor. He was an incredible storyteller with tall tales for every occasion and an endless supply of jokes.
Jeff also had a competitive spirit. He was an avid golfer; few things made him happier than beating his brothers and friends. Jeff was a talented singer as well. His voice enriched many special events. “Danny Boy” was a family favorite.
Jeff was proud of his Irish heritage, and he was proud of his Connor family. He never missed the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, rain, sleet or shine, and he was quick to boast of the beauty of his mother, his wife, his daughter, and his granddaughter.
Jeff was a loving father and grandfather, supporting his children, granddaughter, nieces and nephews through all of life’s moments. He especially loved to cheer at sporting and dance competitions. Until strokes sidelined him, he kept a standing date every Tuesday with his beloved granddaughter Katie.
Above all, Jeff had a huge heart and was always there to help a person in need: family, friends, and strangers. Many have benefited from Jeff’s kindness and generosity. His unmatched ability to make people smile will be among Jeff’s lasting legacies.
Jeff was preceded in death by Kimberly, his parents John and Ellen, and his older brother Judge John Connor. He is survived by his children Kristina Connor Hinz (Scott) and Rick Connor, granddaughter Katie Hinz, his siblings Steve Connor, Pete Connor, Kathleen Reardon, Leslie Aynes, Mary Hill, Michael Connor, and Suzanne Taggart, their spouses, many nieces and nephews and so many wonderful friends.
