WALLINGFORD – Jeannine McNiff departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 4, 2018 after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to George McNiff.
Jeannine was born in Providence, RI 83 years ago, to the late Thomas and Germaine (Ruest) Goulet. She grew up in Warren, RI, attended St. Claire Boarding School in Woonsocket, RI and studied accounting at Bryant College. From there, she went to work for the Grinnell Company, where she met George, the love of her life. Soon after starting their family, Jeannine and George settled in Manchester, and eventually joined the Ashlar Village Community in Wallingford. Jeannine retired as a payroll officer for the State of Connecticut, Department of Transportation, and was an avid golfer until a few years ago. She loved to sew, quilt, and make artistic creations with seashells she collected in Florida and Connecticut.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her daughter Patricia McNiff of Mystic, son Michael (Jennifer) McNiff, granddaughter Anna McNiff, and grandson James McNiff of Guilford, as well as her brother Fr. Conrad Goulet, SSS of the Philippines. Jeannine was predeceased by her brother George Goulet of Warren, RI, and her brother Roger Goulet of Jamestown, RI.
