Jeanne Ella Ann Furlong Stephenson, 72, of Murrayville, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 27, 1941, in Kincaid, the daughter of George and Tressie Joplin Furlong. She married Clayton T. Stephenson Sr. on June 24, 1961, in Jacksonville and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 2013.

She is survived by one son, Clayton T. (Tonia) Stephenson Jr. of Manchester; two daughters, Kim (David) Hults of Petersburg and Jennifer (Bruce) Andrews of Murrayville; five grandchildren, Clayton Austin Stephenson, Shane Stephenson and Ashton Stephenson, all of Jacksonville, and Anastasia Stephenson and Jacob Stephenson, both of Murrayville; three brothers, Bob (Laverne) Furlong and Jack (Lois) Furlong, both of Missouri, and Earl (Sue) Furlong of Athens; one sister, Sharon Furlong (companion Rob Hughes) of Taylor, SC; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Maxine Young and Pam Furlong; and one brother, Jerry Furlong (surviving wife Sharon of Springfield).

Mrs. Stephenson was a 1959 graduate of Jacksonville High School and a member of Church of Our Saviour. She owned and operated Joe’s Pizza in Roodhouse for the past 21 years. Jeanne loved movies. She had coached volleyball at Murrayville-Woodson Elementary School and enjoyed playing Mother’s Volleyball. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
