Jeanne S. (Chateauvert) Brunelle, age 95 of Midland, died Saturday morning September 8, 2012, at Stratford Village.
The daughter of the late Denis and Clairina (Denis) Chateauvert was born in the city of Quebec, Canada on July 12, 1917.
She immigrated with her family to Detroit, Michigan in 1928 and became a naturalized citizen in 1936. Jeanne had worked at several bookkeeping positions throughout the metro Detroit area.
She enjoyed traveling with her sisters and brothers to New Mexico, California, Minnesota, Europe, Ireland, and back to Canada. Jeanne was known for her special BBQ ribs, meat pies, and cakes of all kinds, but especially her chocolate cake.
Surviving is her sister, Fernande “Fern” O’Donnell of Midland; brother, Maurice (Rita) Chateauvert of Garden City, Michigan; special niece and caretaker, Kathleen Dolan of Midland; many other nieces and nephews who will miss her sweet, beautiful smile and bright, kind blue eyes.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her siblings, Simeon, Paul, Roger, Victor, Rolland, Albert, Robert, Beatrice, and Theresa Chateauvert.
