Jeanne Middlebrook Pekar, age 98, of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late John Pekar, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Fairfield, one of 9 daughters of the late Elijah and Eliza Middlebrook, she had been a lifelong town resident. Jeanne was a descendant of Josiah Bartlett, 2nd signer of the Declaration of Independence. She was employed for many years as a chef at the Fairfield Country Day School.
