Dortha Jean Cotter, affectionately known as Jeanie, passed away October 19, 2021 in Pueblo. She was born April 30, 1943 in Guthrie Center, IA, the youngest child to Glen and Velma Covault. Jeanie grew up on a farm with humble beginnings. She graduated from Guthrie Center High School and attended American Beauty School in Des Moines. Jeanie loved her children and grandchildren and attended as many of their ball games as possible. She was an enthusiastic Cub Scout Den Mother, the head score keeper for Little League Baseball and was a Little Britches Rodeo secretary. Jeanie was a sports fan and loved the Broncos and Rockies. She had a good sense of humor, a great singing voice and was always kind to others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband William McSpadden; her grandsons, Gage McSpadden, Erin McSpadden and brother-in-law Ted Haney.

Jeanie is survived by her husband Brian Cotter, sons; Todd (Rhonda) McSpadden, Troy (Diane) McSpadden, and Tyler (Candice) McSpadden; her grandchildren Meagan (John) Day, Kelsey (Garrett) Murchison, Clayton (Elisa) McSpadden, Cheyenne McSpadden, Rhiannon Cummins; great grandchildren, Aidan McSpadden, Keylee Cordova, Madison Cordova, Deacon Murchison, Ellie Day, Sophie Murchison and Henry Murchison; her sisters, Artis (Gil) Torr and Sherry Haney; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jeff (Peggy) Cotter, Leslie Cotter, Claudia (Ken) Trujillo, Chris (Sandi) Cotter; nieces and nephews, Denise (Bernard) Lee, Dennis (Mark Benson) Haney, Brad (Gail) Torr, Scott Torr, Courtney (Andy Gansmoe) Cotter, Pat Cotter, Hilary Cotter, Gary (Amanda) Rivas, Kristina (Matt) Zuniga, Greg (Gina) Rivas, Ashley Cotter and Josh Cotter as well as several other relatives.
