She continued to pursue her nursing degree by attending college in Iowa and finishing her degree at Morgan community college and obtaining her RN degree.

Jeanette’s true passion was being a nurse and caring for people and she served the Sterling area for over 55 years. She began her career at Sterling Heights nursing home and continued on at Sterling hospital where she was an emergency room nurse. She finished her career at Devonshire Acres caring for the elderly until her retirement.

Jeanette loved to travel and see the country. Trips to Estes Park with her mother and two young boys and camping trips in the mountains were an annual event. She enjoyed trips to Branson with her brother Ralph and his wife Betty where they would go to see as many shows as possible. There were many trips to Flagler, Colorado to watch her brother Ralph coach football games. Her travels took her to New York one week after hurricane Sandy where she stayed in the only open motel in Manhattan. Her niece was a tour guide for five wonderful days which included the Broadway show Jersey Boys and the Rockettes Christmas special at Radio City Music Hall. Her travels also took her to Maine where she fell in love seafood. She also traveled to North Carolina where she spent time with family and collecting seashells at the beach. She loved to drive to all of these destinations to see the country and meet interesting people.

Jeanette was a big football fan, never missing a game that her sons played in, and later watching her favorite teams the Denver Broncos and the Alabama Crimson Tide. She enjoyed planting and caring for her flowers in the yard at her home.

She is survived by her two sons Scott and Michael of Lakewood. Her brother Roger and his wife Wendy of Wyoming. Her sister-in-law Betty, wife of Ralph of Nevada; Judy, wife of Ron in Arizona and June, wife of Leroy in Colorado. And many nieces and nephews brought great joy to her life.
