Jeanette Marie (Lijewski) Sexton, 80, of Peru, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Sexton was born October 18, 1937 in LaSalle to Stanley and Gracie (Chacto) Lijewski. She married William Charles Sexton on March 29, 1967 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine in LaSalle. Mrs. Sexton was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine, St. Hyacinth’s Church and Catholic Daughters of America. She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Commercial School and worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper. She enjoyed playing cards, reading and going to the gambling boat. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her dog, Maddie.
Survivors include five sons, William of Peru; James of LaSalle, Robert of Bloomington, IN and Brian and Kenneth Sexton both of Peru; three grandchildren and one brother-in-law, Patrick Sexton of Spring Valley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William on October 19, 2005 and two brothers, Donald and Roger Lijewski. Pallbearers will be Dr. Damian Grivetti, Matt Illman, Scott Schmitz and Thomas Fowler.
