Jeanette LaDonna (Ferree) Riley-True, 86, of Anderson, passed away on April 25, 2015 at her home.
She was born on February 9, 1929 in Anderson, Indiana where she resided most of her life. Jeanette graduated from Anderson High School in 1947. She retired from General Motors as a quality control specialist in 1993. She was a member of the Delco Remy woman’s bowling league, helped out with the Indiana Special Olympics, proud member of the NRA, and was a member of Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of the USA. Her favorite pastimes included traveling, gardening, cooking, sewing, and most importantly spending time with her family and friends.
Jeanette is survived by her loving children, Victoria Lee (Richard L. Alkove) Riley-Jones-Alkove of Anderson, Michael D.O. Riley of Crossville, TN, George Clay (Sondra) Riley of Kansas City, MO, Terry L. (Paula) True of Riverview, FL; siblings, Thomas A. (Ann) Ferree of St. George, UT, Jerry D. (Jackie) Ferree of Fayetteville, NC, and Mary E. (James) Batthauer-Griffith of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Rebecca L. (Jeancois) Appolon, James M. (Angela) Alkove, Roberta L. (Willie) Priester, John S. Alkove, Michael P. (Amanda) O. Riley-White, Christopher D. (Christine) Riley, Jake Riley, Alicia True, and Candace True; great-grandchildren, Lyndsey Young, Jordan Young, Autumn Alkove, Riley Alkove, Arayah Alkove, Abigail Alkove, Asher R. White, Everly A. White, and Anthony R. Riley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, George M. Ferree; mother, Mary C. Ferree-Batthauer; husband, Jackie L. True; husband, John R. Riley; and siblings, Samuel M. Ferree and Edwin H. Ferree, and the Batthauer step-siblings.
