Jeanette B. Ludwick, November 28, 1930 – April 26, 2012.
Jeanette Bridges Ludwick, 81 of Moffat, died Thursday, April 26, 2012 at a Temple nursing home.
Mrs. Ludwick was born November 28, 1930 in Temple, the daughter of R. B. and Elsie (Dunlap) Bridges. She was a graduate of Temple High School and attended Temple Jr. College. She married Thomas Edward Ludwick, November 17, 1950, in Temple. She served for many years as the church secretary for Memorial Baptist Church in Temple before becoming a legal secretary which was her profession until retirement in 1992.
She was member of the Moffat Home Demonstration Club and an avid quilter. For many, many years she was a volunteer at the Moffat Elementary School where each of her three children were fortunate to attend. She dedicated her life to her family and made countless trips from her home to attend baseball games, football games, band concerts, practices and any other events that touched her children’s lives. Jeanette and Tom, her husband of 57 years, traveled all over Texas to bluegrass music festivals and jam sessions.
She was always at the side of the Leon Valley Bluegrass band in which Tom played and she was their biggest supporter. She was a great fan of both Belton Tiger and Temple Wildcat athletics and followed both high schools her entire life. She was also an avid baseball fan at any level and loved to follow the Texas Rangers, Houston Astros and Big 12 baseball games. She was also a devout follower of Baylor Lady Bears Basketball. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2008, her parents, and one brother Ray Barnell Bridges.
She is survived by one daughter, Lucinda Greenway and husband Randy of Belton; son Jeff Ludwick and wife Jeannie of Troy; son John Ludwick and wife Robyn of Wimberly and one brother, Bobby D. Bridges and wife Edna of Temple.
She is also survived by grandchildren James Greenway and John Greenway of Belton, Thomas Ludwick and Julia Ludwick of Wimberly, Molly Ludwick of Millerton, Pennsylvania, Brad Ellis and wife Sonya of Troy, great-granddaughters Brittany Ellis of Troy and Olivia Jade Myers of Millerton, Pennsylvania, all of whom affectionately knew her as “Mamaw” She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Moffat.
