Mrs. Jeanette Hammond, 81, of Newnan, GA passed on November 2, 2018. She was born on January 14, 1937 in Carrollton GA. Jeanette was preceded in death by Mr. Austin Hammond, her husband of 45 years. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Jeanette graduated from Carrollton High School in 1955 and graduated from Piedmont Hospital School of Nursing in 1960. She served as a nurse for the employees of Bibb Manufacturing Company for 5 years prior to opening a Guest Home for the elderly at 75 Jackson Street in Newnan. In 1975, Jeanette and her husband bought and operated Franklin Health Care Center on South River Road in Franklin for 31 years. She grew the facility to a total of 78 beds and provided employment for over 50 workers at any given time. She loved the patients, their families, employees, and strived to improve her community. Survivors include children Allen, Lee, and Allison; grandchildren Kelsey, Claire, Marc, Lilly, and Joel; great grandchildren Austin and Veronica.
